First time to mountain climb? Want to climb at the highest peak in Cebu? Yes, climbing to Osmena Peak is a good starter point specially for first timers. Why? Nowadays, going to the peak of Osmena mountain isn’t as challenging comaparably to 5 years ago. The base now literraly at the foot of themountain! So you can go near the base itself by 2 or even 4 wheel vehicles!
As the highest point in Cebu, it offers a perfect blend of challenge, serenity, and unforgettable scenery.
What to expect at the peak?
At the peak, you can see the 360 panoramic view of Cebu (well, the horizon level where as far as eyes can see). Nice mountain side views, few rock formations, landscapes and wild flowers and plants. As most of mountainering experience, it’s the climb that made the adventure the most.
The Climb
As said, the climb will take 20minutes since the base is situated at the base of the mountain peak. It has a sloopy mountain like 45 degree angle specially near the top. Some point during the trail is easy but of course it is inclined. Be careful not to step on lose circle stones to avoid sudden fall or slide. There is a guide for each group of climbers.
Outdoor Tent
At the top, you can unfold your own tents and stay for the night. There is a public place and at the other side there is some kind of a private area. In this area there are structure to stay.

We went to Daguete proper, then from there, we traverse the Dalaguete-Mantalongon-Badian Road. Just follow the maps and you’ll arrive at the base of Osmena Peak.
Scenic view
Traversing the Dalaguete-Mantalongon-Badian road is awesome. There are many scenic points wherein travellers pause for the ride and take breath taking views of the mountain slopes.
